Now That You've Got Everything Together, What Next
As soon as you have all your required documents notarized (not yet certified and authenticated), with the exception of the I-171H, which can be sent later, make 3 copies of everything, and send them to:
Jane Palestini
World Child Agency
1588 Rio Valley Drive
Clive, Iowa 50325
Jane will keep one copy on file. One copy will be kept on file at the agency. The third will be given to the translator to begin translation.
Be sure to include a check for $350.00 made out to Yong Sun, for the translation. As mentioned elsewhere, if you include a document list and cover letter detailing specifically what's included, it makes processing the documents that much easier.
When the certified and authenticated documents are available, send those with 2 copies (double sided if possible) of all originals (be sure to copy all the seals, both front and back), including the authentication pages, to the same address. Include a check for $500.00 made out to Yong Sun, for the CCAA fee.
If you don't feel like making all those double-sided copies yourself, you can send a separate check for $20.00, also made out to Yong Sun, and copies will be made for you.
Make a copy of all the authenticated documents for yourself. Some families add a cover letter to the copies detailing the contents, and then have the cover letter notarized, certified and authenticated to hand-carry to China. This is not a World Child requirement, but often just good for your peace of mind
Again, for documentation and peace of mind, we recommend including a detailed list of enclosed documents, as well as a cover letter explaining what's included and the purpose of the package.
